What is it like to attend this early years setting?

This provision does not meet requirements The provider has not provided Ofsted with all required information for one of the directors. Consequently, the suitability of a director has not been verified. However, there is little impact on children's safety because suitable Disclosure and Barring Service checks are in place and the director does not work directly with children.

Staff collect the children from school and greet them with smiles and warmth. Children are eager to talk to staff about their school day, and staff actively listen and respond with enthusiasm. Children are confident to greet visitors and they talk to them about the safety procedures for walking... over to the club.

Children demonstrate their independence as they enter and take off their bags and coats. They immediately engage in a range of stimulating activities. Children enjoy moulding with dough, taking part in craft activities and playing imaginatively.

There are quiet spaces for children to go to if they want to relax after a busy day at school. Children remain highly engaged throughout the session. They interact with each other and with staff, and share experiences and play opportunities.

There is a buzz of excitement and the atmosphere is extremely happy. Children show they feel safe and are emotionally secure.Staff are excellent role models and are respectful of the children.

Children's behaviour is exceptional. They are respectful of one another, kind and considerate. Older children are very caring towards the youngest children.

They play incredibly well together. Children share resources and they talk to each other about the creations they are making. Children are very proud to share their creations with staff and visitors, and relish the praise they receive.

What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?

Although the provider has initiated the required checks for new individuals taking on a director role, the full process has not been completed. As a result, the suitability for one of the directors has not been verified. However, there is little impact on children's safety because Disclosure and Barring Service checks are completed for all staff and directors in a timely manner, and the directors do not work directly with the children.

The managers are committed to running a high-quality out-of-school provision that meets the needs of the children and their families within the community. The managers are knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Policies and procedures are in place that ensure the safe running of the club.

All staff, including the managers, benefit from effective supervisions, support and training. This supports their ongoing professional development and the ongoing enhancements to the club. Staff understand their roles and responsibilities, including interacting with the children, keeping them safe, providing activities, and communicating with school and parents.

The club have built and sustained excellent relationships with the host school. There is a consistent, two-way-flow of information shared to ensure continuity for the children and their families. Information about children is shared to support their well-being and learning.

Staff know the children incredibly well and the headteacher of the school is extremely complimentary about the care and experiences that children receive at the club.Staff place a big focus on listening to the children's voice. They involve the children in the club values and rules, and ask them their opinions on what they want to do.

Staff identify the needs and interests of the children and select activities that children engage well in.Children benefit from a key person who takes the time to get to know them. When children first start, staff complete an induction form with parents to gain information about their child.

This helps the children to settle quickly.Children's good health is promoted. They are offered a range of healthy snacks and are reminded of the importance of washing hands before eating to promote their hygiene.

Children love to make their own wraps and enjoy the responsibility of pouring and giving out drinks to their peers.Parents' comments are extremely positive. They talk about the range of experiences their children take part in while attending the club, and the lovely food the children get to enjoy.

All parents say that communication is strong and that information between the club and school is always shared.

Safeguarding

The arrangements for safeguarding are effective.Staff fully understand their responsibilities to keep children safe.

They provide a safe and secure environment and teach children about how to keep themselves safe. All staff have received safeguarding training. They are alert to all signs that may suggest a child is at risk of harm.

Staff are aware of the action to take if they have any concerns about a child or if an allegation is made against a member of staff. They know the procedures to follow for reporting concerns without delay.

What does the setting need to do to improve?

To meet the requirements of the early years foundation stage and Childcare Register the provider must: Due date ensure Ofsted is provided with the necessary information about all directors to enable their suitability to be verified.
