What is it like to attend this early years setting?

This provision meets requirements Children arrive happily at the setting and are excited for the day ahead. They experience a wide range of fun and challenging activities that are well organised.

Children show that they are secure as the friendly and enthusiastic staff engage with them exceptionally well. They learn the importance of healthy lifestyles and being physically active. Younger children confidently stretch out their bodies tall and wide likes trees during yoga sessions.

Older children join in rigorous games such as bench ball and tag-rugby. They work well as a team, cheer each other on and give 'high fives'. Staff know how to engage children wel...l and ensure that activities are inclusive.

They are skilled at sensitively encouraging quieter children to join activities.Staff are good role models and children behave well. Staff have created a fun and exciting environment where children thrive.

Staff clearly explain the rules and children understand that they must stay within their designated groups. Children enjoy each other's company and they show care and concern for each other. For example, when a child bumps into another child, they stop and check that the other child is not hurt.

What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?

Leaders follow effective recruitment procedures. This ensures that staff are suitable to work with children and clear about their roles. Prior to each club operating, staff complete various training packages.

This helps them to familiarise themselves with policies and procedures. Staffing arrangements are well organised so that more experienced staff can support those who have less experience. This ensures that the setting operates smoothly and children are provided with excellent levels of care.

Staff promote children's healthy lifestyles well. The superb facilities enable children to have a wide range of opportunities to be physically active both indoors and outdoors. Staff encourage children to select healthy items from their packed meal for a healthy mid-morning snack.

They recognise that after rigorous activity they need to keep hydrated with water.Children comment that they enjoy attending the club and say they have made new friends. They like the staff and feel safe at the setting.

Children say that they are excited to attend the 'Lab Rats' session where they do science experiments. Young children excitedly participate in a volcano making activity and learn new language, such as 'dormant'.Children have some good opportunities to develop their imagination and creativity.

During a 'Big Box Challenge', they make dens and navigate space. However, on occasion, some creative activities are not well prepared as not all resources are readily available to children.Parents are very happy with the service provided.

They comment that the staff are 'friendly and attentive'. Parents say that their children are keen to attend and want to come back again. They receive good communication from staff about their child's day.

Parents are reassured that the organisation and security of the setting are good, to support children's safety.Staff complete effective risk assessments to ensure that the environment is safe. It is recognised that some activities are more risky than others.

Staff receive specialist training for these types of activities, such as using go-karts. Children learn to keep themselves safe when they put on protective safety wear and listen attentively to the safety rules.

Safeguarding

The arrangements for safeguarding are effective.

There are clear systems in place to ensure all staff complete safeguarding training prior to working at the setting. This means that staff know possible signs that a child may be at risk and understand the correct procedures they should follow. This supports children's safety and welfare.

Children learn to keep themselves safe. For example, staff gently remind them to remain seated while eating, to prevent the risk of choking. Leaders have recently reviewed the medication policy to further support children's safety within the setting.
