Summary of key findings for parents

The provision meets requirements The management team demonstrates a suitable knowledge and understanding of the statutory requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.

They explained how they will work in partnership with parents and other professionals to ensure children's needs are met. They are aware of the importance of children developing secure bonds quickly, due to the irregularity of their attendance. Management and the wider staff team demonstrate an understanding of how to ensure the safety of children.

Risk assessments are in place and daily checks completed. Staff are aware of their responsibilities to protect children from abuse and neglect and are confi...dent about what to do should they have any concerns about a child's welfare. A stimulating environment with a good range of toys is in place.

Older children attending during the inspection were observed making good use of, and having fun in, the freely accessible garden. Responsive staff were supporting children to achieve their own goals and resources were tailored to meet the needs of the children. The management team understands the importance of encouraging children to be independent throughout their play and daily routines.

They explained how planned activities support children to develop skills for life and promote ongoing learning. The management team demonstrates a drive to continually improve the provision. They explained how they make use of meetings at the start and end of each session to evaluate the quality.

They have clear ideas of areas they are working on to develop the provision further. Robust recruitment and induction procedures are in place to ensure staff are suitable to work in the setting. Their ongoing practice and development are supported by observations by the management team and regular feedback.

There were no children present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children.

The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration. Inspection activities The inspector had in-depth discussions with the management team relating to their knowledge and understanding of the requirements for safeguarding and welfare, as well as learning and development. The inspector looked at documents the playscheme uses when caring for children, including registration forms, policies and risk assessments.

She checked evidence of the suitability and training of staff working in the playscheme. The inspector spoke with staff on site caring for older children and observed the activities taking place. The inspector discussed with the management team about how they monitor and develop the quality of the playscheme.
