Summary of key findings for parents

This provision is good Staff provide good-quality play activities that meet the interests of individual children.

For example, children are excited to see the train track and trains. This helps the parents and children to separate from each other with confidence. All staff understand the medical care needs of their individual children well.

Staff and volunteers provide good-quality care for the children. Children, including the most vulnerable, use the outdoor area very well. All staff extend the children's play opportunities so all children have fun.

The management has a good knowledge of children's needs and uses this well to design individual care plans. This... enables staff to provide experiences and care for the children successfully. This helps parents to know that their children are safe and happy during their time at the playscheme.

The daily sharing of information between staff and parents is very good. Staff are aware of any changes in children's behaviour since their last session. Staff understand how children are and how they feel.

This supports staff to keep children safe. It is not yet outstanding because: The management does not routinely share the aims for the children with the volunteers to help them support children's personal development more effectively. Volunteers do not talk enough to the children during their play to help them to connect with others, make decisions and express their feelings.
