Highfields Primary School is slightly larger than an average-sized primary school. The large majority of pupils are of White British heritage and speak English as their first language.

The proportion of pupils who are disadvantaged and eligible for the pupil premium is lower than the national average. The pupil premium is additional government funding to support pupils who are known to be eligible for free school meals and those who are in local authority care. However, the proportion with education, health and care plans or a statement of educational needs is higher than the national average.
