Summary of key findings for parents and pupils

This is an outstanding school The inspirational headteacher has led the school from strength to strength.

Pupils now receive an outstanding education. The school is a haven of tolerance and respect, and everyone works together to celebrate both their diversity and inclusivity. It is a calm, caring, and friendly place where everyone feels valued as part of the St Luke's school family.

Leadership, including governance, is exceptional. Leaders work together to ensure that pupils receive the best possible care, support and teaching to make rapid progress from their starting points. Disadvantaged pupils, and pupils who have special educational needs and/or disabili...ties, achieve particularly well because of the additional high-quality help they receive.

Additional funding is used to great effect. Pupils who speak English as an additional language achieve highly in a range of subjects, including reading, writing and mathematics. Children make accelerated progress in the outstanding early years setting.

Strong leadership and highly effective teaching ensure that children get off to a flying start. The curriculum is outstanding. Pupils' spiritual, moral, social and cultural understanding are particularly well developed by the rich range of learning opportunities that the curriculum provides.

Pupils enjoy a range of physical activities provided for by the sports premium funding. They learn the joy of playing as a team, and represent St Luke's sportingly and with enthusiasm in tournaments. Safeguarding is highly effective throughout the school.

Staff know what actions to take to safeguard children. In turn, pupils' own knowledge of how to keep themselves safe is strong. Pupils' behaviour is exemplary.

They listen to adults and their peers attentively, and contribute well in lessons and discussions. Pupils are very well prepared for the next stages in their education. Pupils take great pride in their school.

They take on additional responsibilities, such as prefects and eco-warriors, with relish. Very occasionally, pupils' learning in a few subjects is not as rich and deep because work is not as well planned as in most lessons.
