Trealaw Primary School is in the village of Trealaw in Rhondda Cynon Taf. There are currently 160 pupils on roll between the ages of three and eleven.

There are five mixed-age classes and a nursery class with 18 part-time and five full-time pupils. The three-year rolling average of pupils eligible for free school meals is around 41%, which is well above the national average of 19%. The school identifies 36% of its pupils as having additional learning needs, which is well above than the average of 21%.

Very few pupils have a statement of special educational needs. Nearly all pupils are of white British ethnicity and come from homes where English is the main language. Very few pupils speak English as an additional language.<...br/>
No pupils speak Welsh at home. The headteacher took up the post of acting headteacher in September 2010, and became the substantive headteacher in July 2012. The school's last inspection was in July 2012.
