This provision is good Staff closely observe children's development and work with parents to promptly outline children's starting points and their ongoing development.

They identify the next steps in children's learning, build on what children already know and ensure they all make good progress. Staff develop close partnerships with parents to share information about children's care and learning. Parents speak positively about the nursery.

They state that, 'Staff have a welcoming and friendly approach, the setting has a family feel and their children look forward to attending'. Staff are friendly and attentive. They get to know children well and spend good-quality time s...upporting them in their activities.

Children develop a real sense of belonging. They are confident to explore and they really enjoy their time at nursery. Children have direct access to a large outdoor space where they take part in spontaneous and imaginative group games.

For example, they pretend to build a boat, make their own tickets and row to Spain for a holiday. It is not yet outstanding because: On occasions, during small-group activities children are not able to remain fully engaged in their learning. Although staff support children's communication skills well overall, they occasionally ask children many questions and do not allow enough time for them to respond.
