Summary of key findings for parents

This provision is good • Staff offer a welcoming and inclusive learning environment.

Children self-register when they arrive at the nursery. They quickly make friends and play together in harmony. Children's behaviour is generally good.

• Staff are sensitive to the needs of all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities. Children make good progress in relation to their individual starting points. They are well prepared for the next stages in their learning, including the move on to school.

• Partnerships between staff and parents are strong. For example, staff keep parents fully informed about their children's learning and devel...opment, and actively engage them in their children's next steps for learning. • Staff work well with other early years providers and relevant agencies to help ensure that children receive the appropriate support they need to learn and develop.

• The manager assesses and evaluates the quality of the provision, to help ensure consistency in supporting children's learning and care effectively. • Staff do not provide enough opportunities for older children to develop their physical skills through challenging outdoor play. • At times, staff miss opportunities to help children tackle certain tasks themselves so that they become even more independent in their learning.
