Summary of key findings for parents

This provision is good • The manager is determined to provide the best possible service for children and their families. She leads an enthusiastic, committed and well-qualified staff team. • Children of all ages demonstrate that they feel secure in the nursery.

They form strong bonds with staff and interact positively with their peers. Children behave very well. Staff provide plenty of praise and encouragement, which helps to boost children's confidence and self-esteem.

• The manager and staff work well in partnership with parents. For example, they invite parents into nursery to take part in interesting activities, such as a 'Potting Morning'. Parents and children fille...d hanging baskets with colourful plants, to display around the nursery garden.

Staff encourage children to talk about this experience. This helps children to develop a strong sense of belonging. • The manager and staff support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) well.

They regularly share information with professionals and other agencies so that children receive targeted support. All children make good progress in their learning and development from the outset, particularly with their speaking skills. Children are confident communicators.

• The manager includes the views of others in the self-evaluation process. For instance, staff use their good ideas to help to revitalise the outdoor environment. They create exciting and enticing outdoor classrooms that help to keep children engaged and enthused in learning.

Children enjoy banging objects on the 'music wall' to make different sounds. They are creative and curious learners. • Staff find out about children's medical needs when they first start.

They access specialist training that helps them to promote children's individual health needs. • Occasionally, some staff do not use opportunities for children to develop their number and counting skills further. • The manager has not fully embedded new monitoring systems to ensure that the progress of different groups of children is analysed meticulously.
