What is it like to attend this early years setting?

This provision meets requirements Children state that they love coming to the club. They eagerly enter the club and share with staff what they did at school.

Staff listen intently to the children as they reflect on their day. Staff use children's interests to set out an array of enjoyable experiences for them. Children use their imagination as they role play in the home corner.

For example, they enjoy making a range of food and drinks for staff to taste. Children also 'go shopping' as they notice that they have run out of some of the food they are trying to cook. Children are confident.

They remain highly motivated as they play. Staff are on hand ...to assist the children whenever it is required. Children enjoy making marks using a range of different tools and equipment.

They smile with complete delight as they finish their 'creation'. Staff know their key children extremely well. They gather and share key information from parents and school.

Staff use this information to help them understand each child's individual needs. Staff have clear rules and boundaries in place. Children take pride as they tidy away resources and equipment.

They represent the club extremely well. For instance, children show high levels of care and respect towards one another. They behave well.

What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?

Leaders are reflective and passionate. They use their own observations and the views of children and parents to make continued improvements to the overall quality of the club. Induction procedures are effective.

This ensures that all staff fully understand their roles and responsibilities and the club's policies and procedures, which include safeguarding.Staff deploy themselves well. This helps them to effectively supervise the children as they play and/or eat.

Staff immediately respond to children if they suffer any accidents. They complete the relevant records and inform parents of this. Staff sign children in and out of the club.

Staff speak extremely highly about the support they receive from leaders. They describe leaders as caring and helpful. Leaders use observations, supervisions, and appraisals to monitor staff performance.

They have regular discussions with staff about their practice and how this could be improved. Staff have access to a range of training. This helps to further develop staff's knowledge and skills.
