This provision meets requirementsnThe premises are safe and secure. Children are cared for within the home and purpose-built cabin at the bottom of the large spacious garden. Effective risk assessments ensure resources and the garden are safe to use.

nThe provider, through discussions, demonstrated she understands the seven areas of learning. She is aware of the three prime areas of learning and uses non-statutory guidance to support her to assess children's progress in learning. The provider was able to discuss how they incorporate specific areas of learning.

For example, through cooking activities they introduce mathematical concepts, such as half or a quarter.nThe provider showed ...the inspector the documentation they use with their assistants to ensure the curriculum is delivered effectively. The provider was able to talk with the inspector to explain how she looks at the intent of the activity and what she wants children to learn.

She monitors how she, and her assistants, implement the activity and evaluate how well it went. She explained how this helps her to ensure that the quality of teaching is good.nEquality and diversity is promoted through the provider teaching children about the British values of respect and tolerance.

The provider explained how she plans and takes children on outings so they learn about the different communities around them. The provider explained their strategies for managing children's behaviour. She uses positive reinforcement and talks to the children about the high expectations she has for them.

nThe provider was able to demonstrate effective systems she has implemented to ensure the suitability of any assistants. For example, it is mandatory that all assistant's complete level 3 training in safeguarding and hold an appropriate first aid qualification.nThrough discussions, the provider was able to demonstrate they have a robust knowledge about safeguarding and know the local thresholds and how to report concerns about children in their care.

The provider also keeps the appropriate documentation for the safe and efficient management of the setting.nThe provider understands the importance of building good relationships with parents. She demonstrated how she shares information with them using an online application tool.

In addition, the provider says she has an open-door policy and parents are welcome at any time.There were no children in the early years age range present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation.
