Staff actively listen to children's views and make adaptations to accommodate their requests. Despite recent changes in staffing, children are confident and demonstrate secure attachments with staff.Children experience a wide range of activities to develop coordination and control.

Staff use their expertise in physical education to teach children a range of skills to develop their physical ability. For ...example, children skilfully use a range of gymnastics equipment, such as stools and beams, to balance and travel along. They are also taught how to jump off and land safely.

This helps children to be physically active and to improve their fitness. Children behave well. Staff gently remind children of the rules and give clear explanations as to why they are important.

This helps children to understand the reasons why these guidelines must be followed and develops their understanding of safety. Children's care needs are met well. Staff are nurturing and caring, and they encourage children to be independent, for example, by learning how to put on their own coats.

What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?

Staff encourage a love of literacy. They provide a selection of books and spend time reading to the younger children. This gives children an opportunity to relax in a quieter area.
