Summary of key findings for parents

The provision is good • Staff develop positive relationships with parents. They seek information from parents about their child's interests at home, so that this can be reflected in the activities provided at the setting. This helps new children to settle in quickly.

Parents are provided with verbal feedback about their child's time at the setting. • The management acknowledge the views of staff, children and parents. This helps to evaluate the provision and identify targets on which to focus for further improvement.

• Staff are warm and caring towards the children in their care. This, and meaningful praise, helps children to develop strong emotional attachments. Staff e...ncourage children to develop their own rules and boundaries.

This helps children to know the rules and how to behave towards others. • The management provides regular supervisory meetings for all staff. This provides staff with the time to discuss their training needs, their planning and the children they care for.

Furthermore, this enables all staff to be able to confidentially discuss any issues of concern. It is not yet outstanding because: • Relationships between the setting and the local schools are not yet fully embedded to promote consistency and continuity for all children's care and learning. • Children are not always fully informed about the range of activities and resources available at the setting, so that they can make an informed choice about what they want to play with.
