Summary of key findings for parents

The provision is good • The provider has addressed the areas for development identified at the previous inspection successfully. For example, she has taken action to ensure children do not leave the premises unsupervised.

• Staff have a close partnership with the linked school and other settings children attend. For example, information is regularly exchanged to help staff plan so that they can offer children complementary activities and meet their individual needs. • Children behave well.

Staff act as good role models and help children learn how to be considerate and respectful of each other. Children quickly form new friendships as they learn to play well together. The...y have a clear understanding of the club rules as children are involved in determining the rules from the outset.

• Children enjoy their time at the club. Leaders and staff provide a good range of activities and resources for children to explore and enjoy each day after a busy day at school. Resources and activities reflect the interests and preferences of those attending because staff consult children regularly.

All children are keen to take part. It is not yet outstanding because: • At times, staff do not recognise opportunities to encourage children to complete manageable tasks for themselves, to support their independence as well as possible. • Sometimes, staff do not have a consistent approach to help children understand what is expected of them, such as taking an active part in tidying resources.
