They happily talk about what they are learning at school. Staff engage children in meaningful conversations about their next stage of learning. For instance, they discuss the exciting next step of moving up to secondary school.

Children behave exceptionally well and understand fully what is expected of them. For example, they know to wash their hands and to wait for the whole group before they begin breakfast together. Children demonstrate high levels of respect for the staff and other children.

Older childre...n make sure younger children can reach what they need at the table and draw them into conversations about the school day ahead of them.Children have access to a wide range of resources and activities. These are insightfully planned to mirror the learning children are doing at school.

For example, the provider ensures younger children have access to resources that help develop small-muscle movements in readiness for writing. Children are accessing fun and engaging experiences that build on their academic education.

What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?

Communication and language development is fully supported by knowledgeable staff.

Children use talking cubes which enable them to initiate fun conversations with staff and other children. They joke and laugh together as they discuss what items they would take to the moon or Mount Kilimanjaro. Children are full of joy and confidence as they build important conversation skills with staff who know them well.

Children enjoy the wide range of activities that are set up for them. When asked about their time at the setting, children state that they love the marble run because it is so big. They engage with the construction activity set up for them and staff encourage them to think creatively about what they might like to build.

Children also have the opportunity to self-select other activities or relax with books in a quiet corner.A healthy breakfast is available for children before they go to school. For instance, they are offered a variety of fruits, bagels, toast and cereals which is all prepared for them on site.

Staff at the setting know which children in their care have allergies and this is clearly displayed in food preparation areas. The provider ensures children talk openly about the different options they might like to have available for mealtimes. She encourages them to vote by creating a fun poster with stickers that represent their choice.

Children are fully involved in the decisions made at the setting.The provider ensures that the well-being of both the children and staff is supported to the highest level. She holds well-being weeks, where staff are provided with a range of activities to participate in together.

Staff state that they feel cared for and appreciated. Furthermore, children are provided with sessions which help to enhance their understanding of well-being. For instance, they explain that they fully benefit from movie nights and relaxation sessions.

The provider has a clear vision for the setting and strives to ensure that children's needs are met at all times. She ensures younger children have a key person that supports them while they settle in and engage with the older children. Children's emotional security is fully supported.

Staff access training to enhance their understanding of different areas of childcare and education. Most recently, staff attended training focused on child mental health. They state that this has enhanced their understanding of different methods they can use to support children.

Parents statee that they are immensely happy with the nurturing care that their children receive and how much they enjoy coming. They also state that the verbal feedback given is always very clear and helpful. Parent partnerships are strong.

Safeguarding

The arrangements for safeguarding are effective.The provider has a robust safeguarding policy in place that staff know and follow closely. They clearly understand the correct procedures they must adhere to should they ever have a concern about a child in their care.

Staff also understand the correct local authority reporting procedure they must follow, should they ever have a concern about an adult working with children. The provider is committed to ongoing safeguarding training and ensures staff regularly update and refresh their knowledge. For example, all staff have recently engaged in training about county lines.
