Summary of key findings for parents and pupils

This is an outstanding school The headteacher leads with drive, determination and moral purpose. He is an inspiration to his pupils.

He ensures that pupils learn and grow in harmony with one another. Leaders and governors have an accurate view of the quality of education that the school provides. They have tackled the areas for improvement identified at the previous inspection with resounding success.

Leaders have extremely high expectations of what pupils can and should achieve. They are uncompromising in their pursuit for excellence for all their pupils. The standards that pupils achieve across the school are excellent.

By the end of key stage 1, ov...er half of the school's pupils achieve the highest standards in reading, writing and mathematics. This is well above the national average. All pupils, including the most able, excel.

The standards achieved by pupils by the end of key stage 2 are equally high. Pupils' progress in reading and writing is some of the best found nationally. The most able pupils make excellent progress.

In mathematics, pupils' achievement is above average, however, pupils would benefit from more opportunities to develop their problem solving and reasoning skills even further. Pupils who have special educational needs and/or disabilities make very good progress. The curriculum is broad and balanced.

It is expertly planned to allow pupils to deepen their knowledge, skills and understanding across the wider curriculum, including humanities, modern languages, music, art and computing. The quality of teaching is excellent. As a result of careful planning, pupils make rapid and sustained progress across the curriculum.

Teachers' subject knowledge is excellent. They use this to both inspire and motivate pupils. Teachers plan and use questions with precision to promote excellent learning and progress.

The way that teachers plan learning to meet the needs of their pupils is impressive. Pupils' behaviour and attitudes to learning are exemplary. Any disruption is extremely rare.

Bullying just does not happen. Pupils' spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is expertly developed. Pupils who are members of the ethos team regularly plan exciting learning opportunities for other pupils across the school.

Leadership of the early years is excellent. Children make rapid and sustained progress from their starting points. The quality of teaching in the early years is outstanding.

Children develop their academic, social and physical skills extremely well.
