Summary of key findings for parents and pupils

This is a good school The resolute leadership of the headteacher and the hard work of the whole school team have transformed learning in Grange Farm Primary School. The school has rapidly improved because : senior leaders and governors have rigorously tackled previous weaknesses. Leaders' and governors' continuing ambition to eradicate underperformance is translated into action and this means that the school continues to improve.

The school benefits from a hugely positive culture in which diversity is celebrated, and nurture and care is provided for pupils. This helps many pupils overcome issues which could get in the way of their learning. Outcomes for pupils are now ...good.

Pupils make good progress from their starting points, including the most able pupils and disadvantaged pupils. Children in the early years make a good start in their learning. They play creatively and investigate happily together.

As a result of good teaching, pupils learn quickly and can apply their skills across all subjects. Teachers assess pupils' work carefully and give timely support and guidance so that pupils know their next steps in learning. The behaviour of pupils is good.

They are polite, friendly and have good manners. Pupils' consideration of others and pride in their work ensure that their personal development and welfare are good. Occasionally, some teachers do not have high enough expectations of pupils' attitudes to learning.

Some pupils do not get off to a fast start in their reading. Rates of attendance are just below average and a significant minority of pupils arrive late to school.
