Summary of key findings for parents and pupils

This is a school that requires improvement Leaders and those responsible for governance have been too slow to identify weaknesses in provision and to tackle them robustly.

The challenge of the lack of teaching staff together with the strong support needed by the other school in the multi-academy trust (MAT) have proved too great for too long. The leaders and trustees of the MAT are in the process of remedying the situation. The curriculum is insufficiently well planned to ensure that pupils get a broad and rich experience of national curriculum subjects.

The quality of teaching, while improving, is too variable. For several years, pupils. progress at key stage... 2 has been weak.

Leaders. response has been too slow. The school has the following strengths Leaders are now taking effective action to tackle any ineffective teaching and to improve overall teaching practice throughout the school.

Behaviour around the school, in lessons and at social times is good. Pupils are polite and are a credit to the school. Children make a successful start in the early years, which prepares them well for the main school.

Pupils are cared for exceptionally well. Staff are passionate about ensuring pupils. well-being and safety.

Some aspects of pupils. spiritual, moral, social and cultural development are very strong. Pupils.

social development is strong. They care for each other. There are excellent opportunities for pupils.

views to be heard through democratic processes.
