Children speak positively about their time in club. They say they enjoy coming to club and this is also reflected at the end of the session when they want to stay and play a little longer.Children are confident in the routines of the club.
They independently u...se the bathroom, understanding the importance of washing their hands at specific times during the session. Staff take good steps to keep children cool during the hot weather. Children enjoy water activities, taking part in quieter, less strenuous activities indoors, and delight in eating frozen juices to help keep them cool.
Children share their ideas and staff listen to their suggestions about activities. Children are kind and respectful towards staff and their friends. They take turns and share the resources, and minor squabbles are over quickly.
Staff help children to negotiate, especially with the popular resources, and the atmosphere in the club is harmonious.

Staff build good working relationships with the school and parents. Effective systems of communication mean that parents can see information about what their child has been doing in club instantly through an online application.
Parents are very happy with the service provided and feel that staff are friendly and approachable.Children squeal with delight as they help to fill balloons with water using a hand pump, in preparation for throwing and catching games. They try hard to make the balloons pop when they throw them, to soak the staff and their friends in the intense heat.
Some children manage to catch them without any spillages and are immediately ready to throw them back to try and soak someone else.Children involve staff in their play. They initiate conversations with staff and enjoy talking about things they have done with their families.
Staff spend time each day talking to parents and pass messages on to parents from school.Children really enjoy snack time. Food is plentiful and nutritious, and children are actively involved in preparing their food.
For example, they make their own sandwiches using a variety of fillings. Children try new foods and talk about their favourite foods. Staff encourage children to have regular drinks, reminding them to stay hydrated in the heat.
Management follow effective procedures for the safe recruitment of staff and for ensuring their ongoing suitability. Regular supervisions and appraisals enable training opportunities to be identified and accessed. Management support and encourage staff and staff in turn value the support given to them.
All required documentation is in place and stored securely. Policies reflect the ethos of the setting and are shared with parents. A variety of information is displayed and provided for parents, such as the food children are having at club and the activities they take part in.
Children enjoy being creative. They use various materials, such as shells and crayons, to create their own hats depicting beach scenes. Children can take their artwork home with them and they show pride in their work.
Children work together to construct various size towers. They enjoy scooping mud into diggers and filling the back of construction lorries. Children make large mounds with soil to roll their toy cars over or crash them into.
Staff encourage children to continue building on what they already know. For example, they count how many children are present, how many of these are boys or girls and add the total together. Then they count the staff and add them to the total number of people present, supporting their numeracy skills.
Children enjoy being physically active. They relish the opportunity to run around outside. Children access large climbing apparatus and balance bars.
Staff give gentle reminders about using the equipment safely.
Safeguarding
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective.Staff take effective steps to keep children in their care safe from harm.
Daily risk assessments enable staff to minimise potential hazards and make the setting safe for children to play in. Clear routines are in place for the safe collection of children from school. Staff understand their role in protecting children in their care from abuse and neglect.
They are fully aware of the local safeguarding referral procedures and what to do if an allegation is made about a member of staff. Children are not released into the care of unknown adults. Good communication between school, club, and home means that staff are made aware if a child has gone home from school and will not be attending club.
