They demonstrate a secure understanding of the daily routine, and staff have high expectations for their behaviour. They resolve potential conflicts independently and manage their emotions well. Staff are on hand to support when needed, knowing when to step in and when to allow children to work things out for themselves.
Children are developing resilience, confidence and independence. Children are happy and show a strong sense of belonging at the club. Children of all ages play together amicably and voice their ideas and opinions duri...ng the session.
Older children show kindness to younger children as they demonstrate how to use the karaoke machine and take turns with the microphone. Children relish these opportunities to be positive role models and display good manners and respect for one another. The club is well organised, and staff are vigilant in making sure it is a safe and secure space to play.
What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?
Leaders are confident in their vision for the club and eager to implement a programme of continuous improvement. Accurate and thorough self-evaluation successfully incorporates the views of children, parents and staff, and high priority is given to promoting children's emotional well-being.Staff say they enjoy working at the club and feel valued and supported in their roles.
A robust induction process, followed by a programme of professional development, support and supervision, helps them continually improve their practice. Leaders provide opportunities for staff to attend relevant training, including paediatric first aid and safeguarding. This helps to keep children safe from harm.
Staff promote children's self-care skills well. Children are encouraged to use the bathroom facilities independently, and they wash their hands without being reminded. Staff recognise that children need a good breakfast before school and prepare a selection of healthy options to choose from on arrival.
Children are learning healthy eating habits, and good oral health is successfully promoted.Children are confident communicators. For example, they are eager to speak to the inspector and explain that they 'love singing and playing with their friends and the staff are kind and helpful'.
Children are eager to help with daily tasks and work together amicably to tidy up before leaving the club.
