What is it like to attend this early years setting?
The provision is good
Children are happy, settled and calm at the setting.
This is due to the warm and positive relationships that staff develop with them. Staff establish consistent routines and expectations for children. For example, they encourage the use of good manners and thoughtfulness to others.
As a result, children are polite, behave well and are ready to learn. The enthusiastic and caring staff team, supported by its passionate management team, deliver a well-planned-out curriculum. Staff utilise children's interests alongside identified next steps of development to provide exciting and engaging activities.
As a conseque...nce, children embrace their learning and are motivated to have a go at new activities and learning.Children are encouraged to complete tasks on their own, which helps to develop their self-esteem and independence. For example, older children serve their own food and pour drinks, while younger children tidy away toys and prepare for mealtimes.
Staff offer praise and recognition for children's efforts, reinforcing their positive attitudes. Physical play opportunities and outdoor learning are offered in abundance. An extremely enticing outdoor area allows children to explore and investigate the natural world.
For instance, children search for insects under logs and stick piles, marking them off lists and engaging in detailed discussions about their findings. This supports children's growing knowledge of their world and develops their language skills.
What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?
The management team has supported staff to make improvements since the last inspection.
For example, staff use their knowledge of child development and the interests of the child to deliver activities that spark interest and participation. Additionally, children are given time to think and respond to questions, which means that children are making firm progress in their communication and language.Staff have an excellent understanding of the individual support some children need.
They provide highly sensitive support and use additional funding effectively to offer children further learning opportunities. Staff work closely with other professionals to support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities to ensure that they have the support they need to develop. The manager has failed to notify Ofsted that the premises were having building work completed which directly impacted on the space available for children to access.
However, robust risk assessments and monitoring have ensured that children's well-being and safety have been maintained. This means that there is no detrimental impact on children's well-being, learning and development.Children are given opportunities to develop their vocabulary.
Staff ask children questions to stretch their language and thinking skills. However, on occasion, staff do not pitch their questioning at the right level, particularly for younger children. This means that some interactions do not support communication and language as well as they could.
Staff successfully teach children mathematics. For example, children explain the process of measuring and mixing ingredients to make gingerbread people. They explore textures and how to change them by adding more dry ingredients.
This means that children's understanding of mathematical concepts and new language is developed as they engage in the exciting activities.Children learn the importance of being healthy. They animatedly talk about the foods they are offered and participate in focused physical activities such as yoga to support their well-being.
This helps children to understand the importance of looking after their bodies.Children embrace the cultural diversity of nursery life. Staff receive support from parents and carers to deliver authentic activities and traditional foods for children to learn about key festivals celebrated by children and their families.
Staff explore books and information about festivals and cultures with all children to aid their understanding. This means that children are respectful and have a good awareness of equality and diversity.Parents are very happy with what they describe as a 'wonderful' setting.
They feel their children are thriving and extremely well cared for. Parents speak about the vital support given to all children and themselves to support learning and early intervention. Consequently, children are making continuous progress in their learning.
Safeguarding
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. There is an open and positive culture around safeguarding that puts children's interests first.
What does the setting need to do to improve?
To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should: help staff to plan more precisely to support high-quality language development, particularly for younger children.
