What is it like to attend this early years setting?
This provision meets requirements Children thrive at this setting. They settle quickly, interacting enthusiastically with staff and friends and are eager to ask staff about plans for the upcoming day. Children enjoy choosing activities and share exceptionally well with each other.
Children show particular interest in creative activities, such as cookie decorating and creating seasonal monsters from art and craft materials. Staff provide activities to build on children's interests and children can choose to play inside or out. There are daily routines in place, and children show confidence in these.
Children show exceptional levels of care and respect for e...ach other and staff create a peaceful and friendly environment for them. Children show extraordinary levels of independence and self-esteem. Children of different ages happily play alongside each other and show joy in this.
For example, when playing with play dough, older children support the younger ones to develop skill to shape the dough into boats, while younger children beam as they sing nursery rhymes about boats. The relationships between staff and children are remarkable. Staff speak with warmth and positivity to children and staff know and support children well, sharing in excitement as children share their experiences of autumn celebrations with each other.
Staff knowledge of children is clear in conversations they have with them. Children confidently share their thoughts and feelings, and staff reply with real care for children's well-being. Staff encourage children to flourish in their confidence, particularly those who are shy.
Staff make sure all children have opportunities to thrive. Behaviour is exceptional.
What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?
The manager and staff work well as a team.
Staff development and well-being is a priority. Staff have a wide range of skills that they use to ensure children are happy, well cared for and engaged. Staff receive a comprehensive induction programme before they start working with children and are confident in fulfilling their roles and responsibilities.
Staff show pride and passion for the care they offer. Staff strive to provide the local community with quality out-of-school provision. Staff have procedures in place to manage the safety and well-being of children when they attend the setting.
Staff are good role models for the children. They help children to solve problems, recognise their successes, and build resilience. For example, when younger children find it tricky mixing the icing, staff encourage them to keep trying and are quick to praise their efforts.
Parents speak positively about the holiday club. They say their children are eager and happy to attend. Parents feel staff know their children exceedingly well and provide excellent care.
Older children speak with enthusiasm about the holiday club and the wide range of activities on offer.Staff make their expectations clear and children benefit from regular routines, such as during snack time. This enhances children's eating experience at snack and lunchtime, making it a sociable, fun time for them.
Children excitedly chat with each other during mealtimes. Older children show care for younger children as they help them to open food wrappers or drink bottles.Children speak to new adults with confidence and are keen to discuss why they enjoy attending the setting.
