Children confidently make choices and involve staff in their play as they make a robot out of bricks. They use their problem-solving skills as they work out how to keep the robot from falling over. Staff support children to think about what they could do to make it sturdier and encourage them to test their i...deas.

Children learn to be resilient as staff offer support and encouragement to keep trying. Children are praised by staff for their achievements, which builds their self-esteem.Children benefit from the staff knowing them well.

Staff recognise when some children need to relax after a busy day and encourage them to use a calm area where children can sit and do jigsaws or play board games. Children form positive relationships with the friendly and fun staff. Children create Valentine's cards, which they give to staff to show that they appreciate them.
