Summary of key findings for parents

This provision is good • Babies quickly form trusting relationships with staff, including those staff who are new to the setting. They feel safe and secure and this is demonstrated well through their positive interactions with staff and other children. • Staff know the children well and understand their individual personalities.

They observe them as they play and use this information to accurately identify the next stages in their development. This helps them to plan motivating activities. • Staff understand the importance of promoting young children's communication and language skills.

Staff speak clearly to babies and toddlers and introduce a variety of words to their ...vocabulary. They give older children time to think and answer the questions they ask. • The provider and her managers have a good overview of the setting.

They understand their areas for development and plan effectively to meet these and improve outcomes for children. • The outdoor area is used positively to promote and support children's learning. They enjoy interactions with adults, such as playing hide and seek.

Children confidently manoeuvre themselves along challenging obstacle courses, placing their arms out wide to balance themselves. • Partnerships with parents are positive. Staff work closely with them to meet children's needs and regularly share information about their child's learning and progress.

Parents are complimentary about the setting. • There are occasions when some staff do not consistently help children understand the rules for their behaviour. • On occasions, staff do not plan large-group activities well enough to make sure that all children can fully join in.
