This provision meets requirements Staff greet each child and their parents on arrival at the club. Club leaders place a high priority on helping children to settle into the club. They offer flexible settling-in sessions for new children.

Staff ask parents for information about children's interests and individual needs. This information is then used to plan and provide activities that are appropriate for the children who attend. Children enter the club eager to meet their friends and engage in the activities provided.

Children settle into the club very quickly and demonstrate that they feel safe and secure. Staff provide a wide range of activities and consi...der the views of children when planning future experiences. For example, an interest in Harry Potter is used successfully to engage children in a wide range of craft activities.

Young children are reminded of the importance of using scissors correctly as they make their own wand and owl pictures. Staff heap praise on children for their achievements and congratulate them as they persevere with tasks. Children find this incredibly motivating.

Staff use every opportunity to build children's confidence and self-esteem. Staff have high expectations of children's behaviour. They encourage children to develop club rules and support them to understand how their behaviour may impact others.

Children understand the club rules. For example, they remind each other of the importance of sharing and caring for resources. All children behave well.

This contributes to a very settled and harmonious atmosphere at the club.

What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?

Leaders evaluate the quality of service they provide. They strive to make children's experiences as positive as possible.

For example, leaders monitor the ages of children due to attend on a day-to-day basis. When required, they increase the number of staff working at the club to help to ensure that all children are supervised effectively and can make the most of the opportunities provided.Staff make sure that the club is welcoming and inclusive for all.

Children of all ages play incredibly well together. Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are well supported. Staff enable all children to access and enjoy the full range of activities.

Staff build on children's creative and mathematical skills. Children are excited to take part in making model 'mandrakes'. Staff encourage children to work out how to mould dough to fit inside a container.

Staff ask questions and encourage children to think about what they are doing. They allow children to shape the dough in their own way. Children learn to think critically and are proud of the models they make.

Parents share with the inspector how staff support and encourage children when they first start. They comment that their children enjoy spending time at the club. Children share with their parents what they have been doing.

Parents speak very positively about staff. They value the service that the club provides and feel reassured that their children are happy and well cared for.Staff support children to make healthy choices.

They offer a range of healthy options at snack times. Staff encourage children to try different fruit and ensure that fresh drinking water is always available. Staff motivate children to be active.

An outdoor area is available for children to use. Staff plan activities to promote exercise, such as 'sports afternoons' . Children are active both inside and outside.

Leaders support the staff team well. For example, they work alongside staff and observe the quality of staff's practice. Leaders give advice about how practice can be improved.

Robust induction means that staff are clear in their roles and responsibilities. Staff deepen their knowledge and extend their skills through a variety of training. For example, recent behaviour management training has contributed to developing a consistent approach to managing children's behaviour.
