This provision is good • Children are highly independent and curious learners. They have many opportunities to lead their own play and explore their ideas in the well-resourced and stimulating environment. They develop high levels of confidence and self-esteem and are extremely well prepared for starting school.

• The atmosphere in the nursery is welcoming and calm. Staff provide a wide range of exciting activities that promote children's learning. Children's independence is actively encouraged and supported throughout the nursery.

• Extremely strong partnerships with parents help to ensure they play an active role in their child's learning. There are effective systems t...o enable two-way communication between staff and parents. Parents feel included, valued and involved in all areas of their child's development.

• Children are happy, secure and settled. They demonstrate high levels of confidence and have wonderful relationships with the staff. • The quality of teaching is consistently strong throughout the nursery and children make good progress.

• Staff sometimes miss opportunities to extend and challenge older children's learning and development to support their good progress further. • There are good systems in place to assess the progress children make. However, on occasion, staff do not always make the best use of the information gained from tracking children's progress to inform future planning.
