What is it like to attend this early years setting?

The provision is outstanding

Children positively thrive in this warm and inviting nursery. They excitedly greet their friends and the caring adults. Children settle quickly when they arrive.

They help themselves to a healthy breakfast and talk happily to their friends as they eat. All children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), make exceptional progress as there is an ambitious and brilliantly sequenced curriculum. Pre-school children show persistence and deep levels of involvement as they match coloured discs to numbers and solve shape puzzles.

They help each other work out solutions so they can suc...ceed with the challenge. Adults offer expert encouragement and praise. Outside, younger children explore bubbly water and learn about volume as they pour and fill containers.

Children show high levels of respect towards each other and the environment. Adults brilliantly model respect and ensure children feel highly valued. Children willingly offer to help with tasks, including carrying the food shopping to the kitchen and helping tidy up in between play times.

Children are extremely confident and feel very safe and secure. This is because the adults work collaboratively together to provide a beautiful environment that enables all the children to explore and learn.

What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?

Children develop a love of books as adults regularly and creatively share stories.

Adults plan activities that give children the opportunity to extend their thinking about the story and develop their imagination. For example, children make potions after reading a story about a witch. They chop fruit and herbs and talk about the smell and texture.

They recall and talk about the story and develop their own narrative. Adults model language extremely well. They expertly repeat words and extend sentences.

They use open-ended questions to encourage children to recall what they know and to think of new ideas.Adults expertly teach children the importance of being healthy through the carefully planned routine. Children know to wash their hands before and after meals.

They talk confidently about brushing their teeth to keep them clean. Children learn about the importance of eating healthy meals as they enjoy the nutritious snacks and meals the nursery provides. All children take part in yoga and consider the benefit of exercise and the effects on their bodies as they work their muscles.

Children learn about their emotions and how to manage them through carefully planned activities. They learn to label emotions through colours and use this to talk about how they feel and why. Adults brilliantly model descriptions of these feelings to further develop children's understanding.

As a result, children are extremely calm and they are kind and considerate to their friends as they develop an excellent awareness of empathy.Adults expertly and regularly observe and assess all children to ensure they are making excellent progress in all areas of learning. If a child needs extra support, the very knowledgeable special educational needs coordinator (SENCo) supports them expertly.

She works collaboratively with the child's parents and outside agencies to ensure the child makes excellent progress.Partnerships with parents are extremely effective. Adults knowledgeably share children's learning and progress with parents.

Parents are invited to attend meetings to share their children's achievements and next steps. Adults support parents with strategies to help their children at home. For example, they advise parents on how to ensure their children's transition to their next stage of education is smooth.

Leaders and managers are very passionate about positive outcomes for all children. They constantly strive to improve the environment and adults' practice. They carefully monitor children's well-being and progress.

When they identify areas for improvement, they swiftly and calmly implement changes. Leaders and managers work collectively and in harmony with the team to develop teaching skills. Through highly effective mentoring and supervision systems, adults identify training needs and leaders support them to attend the relevant courses.

Safeguarding

The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. All adults have an excellent knowledge of how to safeguard children. The leaders have extremely effective systems to ensure adults have an up-to-date knowledge of how to identify and act on possible signs of abuse.

There are clear procedures to support the well-being of all children, and adults know how to record and report all concerns about children or adults. Leaders have robust systems to ensure the safe recruitment and retention of all adults. They use regular risk assessments and take swift action to make areas of concern within the setting safe.
