Children are happy and settled at the club. • Parents commend the staff on their friendly, caring and approachable nature. They enthusiastically comment on how their children enjoy attending the club and how they relish the vast array of interesting and fun activities on offer.

• Safety is of the highest importance at the club. The premises are checked before each session to ensure that they are safe and secure. Staff are vigilant and implement effective risk assessments to help identify and minimise any potential hazards.

• Children have access to ...a well-resourced play environment. They have the opportunity to make independent choices during their play and staff are close by to offer challenge and praise. • Children describe the club as 'brilliant' and say there are lots of good activities and nice food.

They are polite, caring and behave well towards each other. • The current arrangements for monitoring staff performance are not fully developed to help all staff raise the quality of their interactions to an outstanding level. • Strategies used to encourage parents to share information about their child's interests when they first start are not always successful.
