Key information is shared and noted, and children are carefully registered at pick up and then as they arrive at the club. Children arrive, eager to relax and play, talking enthusiastically to the kind staff and their friends. The club echoes with the sound of lively chatter and laughter.

Children have lots of fun choosing from a range of activities. They work together to build a tall tower of bric...ks on a table. They discuss what might happen if the tower falls and decide that it might hurt someone if it falls off the table.

They work together to move the tower off the table onto the floor, politely thanking staff for their support. This demonstrates the highly positive relationships between staff and children and that children are well supported to consider how their actions may affect others.Children behave very well at the club.

There is a well-embedded routine and clear expectations of behaviour. When music plays, children promptly stop what they are doing and help to tidy up. Everyone works together to put the toys and equipment away as quickly as possible.

Children work cooperatively, and staff are full of praise and encouragement for their efforts.

What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?

Children have lots of opportunities to be active. They jump up with excitement as staff tell them that it is workout time.

Children enthusiastically join in with a dance routine on a huge screen. They clap, dance and jump, following the instructions and singing along with the chant. The room is full of laughter as children and staff let out a big shout at the end.

This demonstrates that children are supported to be healthy and that they enjoy the activities on offer.Children enjoy making collages on the theme of winter, which links to a topic in school. They listen intently as the staff explain what materials are available and how to start the picture.

Children are encouraged to make their own choices and to decide how they want the finished pictures to look. Children concentrate hard as they choose the papers and drawing materials. They kindly share equipment with each other and praise others' pictures saying, 'that's good'.

Children are encouraged to be independent but also aware of other people's needs and feelings.Staff explore festivals and other events that are important to the children. For example, children make Chinese New Year dragons and learn about Eid and the different cultures of children at the club.

On their birthday, children stand at the front, and everyone sings 'Happy Birthday' to them. If a child has been awarded 'Star of the Week' at school, this is also recognised and celebrated at the club. This supports children to develop a good understanding of what makes them unique and builds their self-confidence.

Staff and leaders ensure that all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, are very well supported. They gather useful information when children start at the club and ensure ongoing communication with the school and parents. Staff are sensitive to individual children's needs, and all children are treated with a great deal of kindness and respect.

This ensures that children's emotional security is well supported and that all children are able to access the activities available.Staff are very positive and enthusiastic about the time they spend with the children at the club. Staff report that club leaders are supportive and that they have a keen focus on their continued professional development.

For example, leaders ensure that coaching and modelling of good practice takes place during club sessions. Leaders encourage and support staff to undertake further qualifications. This ensures that the club continues to develop and improve.

Parents and carers are full of praise for staff and leaders at the club. They report that their children are happy and settled and that they look forward to the days when they attend.
