This provision meets requirements The atmosphere in the club is positive, and children have a strong sense of belonging.
Children enter the club and quickly settle into the familiar routine, happily engaging in a range of activities. Children choose from a selection of creative play opportunities and sports activities in the main hall, testing out their physical skills and agility. Children cooperate well during team games and group activities.
They enjoy making pom-poms and learning various art and design techniques with their friends. They use their imaginations and talk through what they are creating and their plans for their designs.Staff manage childr...en's behaviour in a calm and positive way.
Children build positive relationships with staff, and children play an active role in the setting. Staff take time to listen to the children's ideas and input. They are asked what they would like to do, and their ideas are incorporated into the planning of the sessions.
Staff support and encourage the children to listen to others' ideas and value one another's contribution. This helps to reinforce children's self-confidence and emotional well-being.Children enjoy healthy snacks and meals.
They learn about the importance of good hygiene practices, and staff actively encourage children's independence during daily routines.
What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?
Staff ensure that children understand what is expected of them to keep themselves safe on the walk to and from school. Children explain to the inspector that they have to line up in pairs so that staff can count everyone to ensure that they are all there before they set off.
Children enjoy team games, and staff encourage them to take lead roles in explaining to their friends the rules of the games. Children have the opportunity to complete 'Playmaker awards' and such tasks form part of this. Children cooperate well, and staff encourage the older children to assist the younger children.
These supportive and encouraging relationships help to form good bonds, and children enjoy the responsibility.Staff recognise that all the children have different interests and respond by providing a range of activities that include both quieter activities and activities where children can be more physically active. Children enjoy playing with smaller construction materials.
They design houses and boats and talk about the different features they need to add. They decide the best pieces to use and experiment with which pieces work best on their creations. In the main hall, children enjoy ball games and musical statues and bumps, choosing their favourite songs to dance to.
Staff provide a range of healthy snacks and meals for the children. Children know the mealtime routines well and wash their hands before meals, understanding the reasons for doing so.Children's very good behaviour shows that they understand the club rules and what is expected of them.
They are kind to their friends, and they show an awareness of how their behaviour impacts on others. Staff are deployed well, and good levels of supervision ensure that children receive the support they need. Staff give children lots of praise and encouragement and encourage them to make good choices.
Secure procedures are in place to recruit staff and ensure that all the relevant checks are complete to ascertain their suitability to work with children. All required documentation is in place and contains the necessary detail.Parents report that they feel well informed about how their children spend their time and that their children enjoy coming to the club.
Parents feed back that settling-in procedures are well managed and help their children to settle in quickly.Staff are supported to attend training to continuously build on their skills and knowledge. As a team, staff continually reflect on their practice and consider ways they can build on the experiences they provide for children.
Children are also encouraged to be part of this process and to offer their ideas and suggestions, which they say staff take on board and make happen.
