What is it like to attend this early years setting?
This provision meets requirements Children are at the heart of this setting. They arrive smiling and separate very well from their parents, ready to embark on a day filled with fun and exciting activities. Leaders and staff create a dynamic and stimulating environment.
They take the time to get to know the children before they first start. This includes arranging home visits and extensive meetings with parents whose children require additional support, to ensure that they are ready to offer them meaningful experiences and all the help they need. Staff and leaders plan a great selection of inspirational activities based on children's interests and preferences. <...br/>They prompt children to make their own choices of games to play or resources to access, to make them feel valued and involved. This supports children's confidence and self-esteem. Children behave exceptionally well, and they navigate and explore their environment with ease.
They follow the setting's routines and boundaries with confidence. At the beginning of each session, nurturing staff encourage children to recall and explain the 'golden rules'. Children confidently name them and give clear examples of how to follow them correctly.
Children are also very respectful and considerate towards staff and peers and always introduce themselves to staff and children they have not met before. This supports children's emotional resilience and strengthens their social and personal skills.
What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?
Staff and leaders are very welcoming.
They promote a positive and inclusive culture across the setting, where children are happy, safe and they thrive. Staff and leaders are very attentive and intuitive to children's needs. They understand children with special educational needs and/or disabilities and ensure they are supported to self-regulate and be involved in all activities available.
Furthermore, staff encourage children to freely express their preferences of activities and make requests for these to be repeated. This means that children always want to return to this fun setting.Children enjoy playing games with their friends.
Staff briefly explain the rules of each game, and children follow them with enthusiasm. For example, children laugh and giggle with excitement as they play a chasing game. Staff are exemplary role models and ensure all children have an active role in each game, while participating too.
As a result, children further develop their gross motor skills and coordination and strengthen their social interactions.Staff provide meaningful opportunities for children to explore arts and crafts activities. Staff and leaders share their ideas, and children welcome them with joy and anticipation.
For example, children have an amazing time creating their own sleep masks. First, staff explain what these can be used for, then children use a wide variety of mark-making tools to create unique masks. Children concentrate intently at this activity and they engage in conversations with their peers and staff about what they are doing and their choices of colours.
To further develop children's communication and language skills and their listening and attention, staff encourage children to join in a game where they have to whisper a word or phrase to the child next to them and so forth, to then compare to the original one. Children participate with enthusiasm and comment on the end result to further develop their thinking skills.Leaders are very passionate about what they do and reflective about practice.
They are committed to deliver unique and meaningful experiences to all children. Leaders demonstrate robust knowledge and understanding of the local area, and they offer additional support to children who need extra help. They also work very closely with the school to ensure continuity in children's care and education.
Staff mention they are very happy to work at this setting. They feel well supported by leaders and complete regular training to keep their knowledge current. Staff benefit from extensive inductions and supervision meetings.
They are involved in capturing children's interests to then plan exciting activities.Partnerships with parents are effective. They praise the exciting experiences and themes offered to their children, such as 'pyjama day'.
