This provision meets requirements Children are happy to attend this warm and welcoming setting.

They are greeted by caring staff and settle quickly and confidently into their chosen activities at the start of the day. Children are engrossed in activities. They demonstrate high levels of confidence, self-esteem and independence as they lead their own play.

Children are highly sociable as they play and during daily routines, such as mealtimes. Staff encourage children to help themselves to healthy meals, such as milk and wholegrain cereals. The support children to share ideas, for example, while playing with small-world toys or dressing up their bears in a v...ariety of different outfits.

Children kindly share resources.Children demonstrate exemplary behaviour as they follow the club rules, which staff encourage them to help to set. They are kind, polite and respectful to one another.

Staff are excellent role models and have high expectations. They show a genuine and sincere interest in children and what they have been doing in school. Staff build strong relationships with different class teachers.

This enables staff to pass on any necessary information to parents and successfully build on the knowledge, essential skills and positive attitudes that children require for successful learning in school and beyond.

What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?

Staff have very good relationships with the host school. They find out what children are doing in school and use this to continue to guide children's ongoing development.

For example, children practise holding their pencils correctly. Staff ensure that children's care and the activities they provide are tailored to children's individual needs.Staff conduct regular children's questionnaires.

They continuously update their planning in response to children's suggestions, interests or home experiences. This ensures that children's interests and views are always taken into account.Staff organise the layout of the hall effectively and sensitively.

This means that children across a wide range of ages can easily engage in a variety of activities of their choice.Children know the routines of the setting very well. They know to place their coats and bags in designated 'cubby holes' as they arrive.

Children confidently help themselves to meals and clear away when they have finished eating. They know to wash their hands before eating and after using the toilet. This helps children to develop their independence well and shows they are aware of keeping themselves safe and healthy.

Children enjoy daily play opportunities outdoors. For example, children have access to a large playground and outdoor maze. Staff support children's physical and mental health development well.

Parents are very complimentary of the service the setting provides. They appreciate the safe and secure environment and the wide variety of activities offered to their children. Parents praise staff for their close relationships with their children and ensuring that children have fun.

Support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities is good. Staff work in partnership with the host school and parents to ensure consistency in delivering care and learning that is specific to individual children.Staff benefit from regular opportunities for supervision and to reflect on their practice.

The provider supports staff's practice and staff competently identify any additional training they may need. Staff say that they feel valued and supported and enjoy working at the setting. The manager is aware that due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, some children needed further support with their independence and confidence.

She has worked hard to address this, for example, by spending quality one-to-one time with each child within the setting.
