This provision is good • The manager reviews the quality of the provision accurately and identifies areas for further development. She values the contributions that parents, staff and children make to this process.

For example, she refined the arrangements for assessing children's progress at age two. • All children make good progress from their starting points and gain the skills needed for their future learning and school. • The well-qualified staff support children's learning and development skilfully.

They make regular and precise assessments of children's play and use this information to identify how to help children to progress further. • Staff provide children wit...h a stimulating learning environment, both indoors and outdoors. This captivates children's interests and imagination and motivates them to play and learn.

• Staff support children's emotional security well. Children are happy, secure and form close bonds with staff. They gain good levels of emotional awareness and empathy.

For example, they decide that giving a person a hug will help them if they feel lonely. • Children learn about keeping themselves healthy. They know that sun cream helps to protect their skin and how drinking water in hot weather keeps them hydrated.

They talk about recent visits to the dentist and how cleaning their teeth helps to remove bacteria. • At times, staff do not fully extend children's learning experiences to help them to solve problems and test out their ideas. • Staff have not identified how to fully involve parents of children who speak English as an additional language to further enhance the opportunities offered to maximise their learning.
