What is it like to attend this early years setting?

This provision meets requirements Children are excited and eager to enter this setting.

They look round for their friends to start their play and seek out members of staff to tell them about their day. Staff give children a very warm welcome and give reassurance to children who have recently started at the setting. The atmosphere bubbles with excited voices.

Staff nurture children's needs very well and give children lots of attention to help them feel settled and secure. Staff are responsive to children's needs. Staff ask children what they would like to play and which activities they would like to explore.

Activities support children's interests ...and natural curiosities. For example, at the craft table, staff help children to make a wide range of items including a meteor and a party hat. Children are engaged in play and learning.

They are active learners and are engrossed in activities. Staff are excellent role models. They encourage children to 'have a go' and to keep trying if they find something challenging.

Children show they are independent and mature. They initiate their own play and help one another without instruction from staff. Children listen carefully to adults, consider each other's needs and show everyone respect.

Children's behaviour is very good.

What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?

Staff create a relaxed atmosphere where children feel valued and secure after a busy day at school. Children enjoy building with blocks, making bookmarks, playing with small dinosaur figures and reading books.

These activities help children to express their imaginations and explore their creativity. This helps to support children's overall well-being.Staff nurture all children's individual needs well and have high aspirations for all children.

Children who have special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are supported extremely well. Staff follow children's interests, engage them in play and are always on hand to offer support or make suggestions. Children are building strong friendship groups and are learning the art of co-operation with their peers.

Children enjoy activities which promote healthy lifestyles. They enjoy playing team games outside, such as football and climbing on the climbing frame. Staff provide a range of healthy snacks and promote good oral health.

Children are beginning to understand the benefits of looking after themselves to support their overall well-being.Parents are very complimentary about the care that staff give to their children. Staff share lots of information from the setting and school.

They support not only children but also families. For example, staff share information about services in the local area that support families. Parents share that 'staff are a godsend' and 'they really go over and above'.

These partnerships help to provide children with a consistency of care.Partnerships with other professionals are well established. Staff work very closely with staff from the on-site school.

They gain feedback from teachers on the kind of day that children have had or strategies that have been used in the classroom. Staff use these same strategies with children in the setting. This means that children gain a consistent approach from all their carers throughout the day.

Staff work extremely well as a team and are consistently supported in their roles. They attend training, share ideas and work together. Staff really value the support that leaders give them and share that they 'wouldn't want to work anywhere else'.

This support helps to raise staff well-being and to enhance their knowledge and skills.Senior leaders are visionary in their leadership. They attend a range of meetings with professionals from education, health, the police service and the local neighbourhood.

This allows staff to really understand the local community and ensure that their provision truly supports the needs of children in their care.
