This provision meets requirements Children are greeted as they leave their classrooms by friendly staff. They excitedly make their way to the club and show a strong sense of belonging as they hang their coats on arrival. Children confidently follow the club routines.
They independently sanitise their hands and line up to collect their evening snack. Snack time is unhurried and highly valued as an opportunity to build relationships and extend children's social interactions. Staff sit alongside children as they eat and expertly model conversational skills.
Younger children develop new skills as they take on the tricky task of buttering crackers. Children con...fidently communicate their views and share their experiences of the club. They rush to share feedback with the inspector, confidently telling her, 'This is the best club ever'.
All children who speak to the inspector are especially pleased with the fun games and activities they thoroughly enjoy.Staff place a strong focus on inclusion. All children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, are welcome.
Children are offered skilled support, and adapted activities ensure they can actively participate. Staff work closely with parents and take on board any advice or ideas. As a result, children are fully included.
What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?
Children show real pride in their creations and cannot wait to show them off to whoever collects them at home time. These activities especially help early years children to work on essential skills they are learning in primary school, such as small muscle and writing skills.The established staff team work well together.
Staff are positive role models, who speak respectfully to children and one another. Children are learning the importance of socially acceptable behaviour. They are polite and understand they need to listen and respect others.
For example, older children show care and concern for younger pupils. They support and encourage the youngest children as they strive to learn new skills, such as using scissors while cutting cardboard.Children learn the importance of staying safe and following a healthy lifestyle.
They have excellent opportunities to be physically active. Children are encouraged to make healthy choices about what they eat and are encouraged by staff to stay well hydrated. Staff talk to children about e-safety and how to keep themselves safe online.
This complements children's learning at school.Partnerships with the host school are strong. Staff have good relationships with the teachers to support them to build on children's skills and knowledge.
For example, they talk to staff as they collect the children, and are aware of the topics being explored in school. This supports consistency in children's learning.The manager is passionate and committed to her role.
She has clear drive, ambition and passion for the club and the children who attend. This is reflected in the high-quality provision and high levels of children's happiness. All aspects of the provision are well thought out and meaningful.
For example, staff ensure children's interests are reflected in the activities provided. They are extremely responsive to children's needs and enthusiastically join in with their games. Consequently, children build strong bonds with each other and with staff.
The manager ensures all staff are well supported. She ensures they are familiar with their roles and responsibilities. Staff are skilled, and the manager is committed to providing opportunities for staff to access training while prioritising their well-being.
Staff talk about the positive impact this support has on their practice.Relationships are strong, and parents and children have established high levels of trust in the caring and committed staff team. Parents are encouraged to share all relevant information before their child starts attending.
This, alongside the time the staff spend getting to know each child, helps ensure they know children well.
