What is it like to attend this early years setting?
The provision is outstanding
Staff successfully implement the highly ambitious curriculum with passion and excitement. They thread the curriculum intent throughout the nursery. Staff embed the curriculum securely and very consistently in all rooms.
Children are extremely motivated learners, who flourish emotionally and academically. Staff have high expectations of children and model respectful language and actions. They go above and beyond to build strong relationships with their key children, and this is demonstrated in the excellent bonds that children have with staff.
There are secure and trusting attachments between all children, parent...s and staff.Staff promote children's independence skills very skilfully from young babies to pre-school children. They give children choices, which supports their sense of self-awareness.
This helps children to become skilled at managing their self-care and learning needs. From a very young age, children understand how to manage their feelings and emotions, and reach out to the attentive staff to guide them when needed. For instance, when babies who are non-verbal want the same toy, they turn to staff to help them resolve this.
Children happily follow the routine of sharing that has been implemented in the nursery effectively. They learn rapidly how to recognise their feelings and regulate them in a remarkably mature way.
What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?
Parents are delighted with the care and education that their children receive in this excellent nursery.
They appreciate the incredible effort that staff make each day to ensure that their children are happy, motivated to learn, and make remarkable progress. Parents comment that staff and managers genuinely know and understand their children and are committed to helping them to grow and develop. They appreciate the additional advice and guidance they receive from staff in the nursery.
Staff ignite a love of literacy in children, for example, through their imaginative storytelling sessions. Children are keen to listen to and act out the stories with relevant props and role-play scenarios. They continue this learning in their free play inside and in the garden.
Staff expose children to interesting vocabulary, which encourages their rapid language development. As they paint with flowers, staff teach babies details, such as about the stem and petal. Children repeat key phrases that are modelled by the experienced staff.
Leaders and managers foster a warm and fun environment for staff. Staff feel extremely lucky to work with this caring management team, who prioritises their professional development and emotional well-being. Managers reflect on what children, staff and parents need, and will implement new ideas to benefit any areas of development.
Regular communication among the team ensures that there is a consistent approach from all members of staff.Staff expertly plan and carry out learning experiences that are based on children's existing knowledge and interests. For example, pre-school children visit the awe-inspiring atelier.
They explore how to make shadows through a wonderful sensory experience using torches, reflective materials, and light beams. Children consolidate their previous learning and understanding in this magnificent space. Staff have a deep knowledge of children, which allows them to tailor activities for each individual child and foster their development at their own pace and style.
Staff identify children with special educational needs and/or disabilities quickly. The highly skilled and dedicated staff provide care and plans for these children. Staff support children who are learning dual languages at home very well.
Staff learn and use key vocabulary from children's home languages to enhance children's communication skills. This helps all children to make excellent progress in their learning.Staff embed healthy lifestyles in the daily routine for children.
Children benefit from the nutritious lunches and snacks that staff provide. Staff further promote children's good health through spending plenty of time outdoors. Children excitedly grow their own produce in the garden and understand how the plants need water on a sunny day.
Recycling is second nature to everyone in the nursery and children make use of everyday objects in their play as part of their global awareness.
