Children behave well and help each other to complete tasks and play games. Children enjoy sport-based activities, such as playground games and dodgeball. Staff explain the rules carefully to ensure that all children understand and are equally involved.

They blend opportunities to be creative into games, for example making a superhero comic or designing a superhero. Staff encourage children to work together and share their ideas.

What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?

Staff demonstrate respectful behaviour and set clear boundaries for the children.

Children are mindful of each other and can consistently be seen and heard helping one another and sharing ideas. Children seek support from staff if they need it, receiving reassurance and help in return.Staff speak to children about healthy choices and how to stay hydrated.

Staff frequently remind children to drink from their water bottles and water jugs are available for top ups. Children know not to bring nuts or share food and are aware of allergies. Staff promote the idea of a balanced diet, such as children are encouraged to eat from all food groups and enjoy what they are eating.

All staff are encouraged to run activities. This gives variety to what is on offer, as well as helping to build staff's confidence. Staff access online training courses and their learning is checked by managers.

Staff speak of being excited to learn new things and are passionate about the sector. This enthusiasm can be seen with their interactions with children. Staff are invested in giving all children a positive experience.

The club welcomes all children and has an inclusive ethos. Staff use additional local funding to give children, who may not usually be able to enjoy holiday clubs, opportunities. Managers work in partnership with parents and offer sessions to suit funded families at their discretion.

Managers provide an online booking system, which offers all parents flexibility to book sessions up to the night before. They collect children's details, such as medical and allergy information, via the secure booking system. This is shared with staff to maintain the safety and well-being of children.

Safeguarding

The arrangements for safeguarding are effective.The environment is clean, safe and managed well. Staff continually monitor the environment to check for hazards to keep children safe.

All staff receive safeguarding training and understand their responsibilities. This includes the risks to children, how to raise concerns about another member of the team and the procedures to follow in the event of any concerns about a child's welfare. The management team follows robust vetting procedures and induction processes to ensure that staff are suitable to work with children.
