Children play and learn in an exceptionally well-planned environment. Leaders carefully consider the decoration of the nursery to keep it calm and welcoming. Staff regularly reflect on every aspect of the innovative and inspiring learning environment.

Children thrive in a space that supports their creativity and imagination. For example, children play with real fruits, vegetables and herbs in the home corner. This engages their senses as they experience the weight, feel and smell of a variety of foods.

Staff support children to use tools safely. For example, they cut up fruits and vegetables, carefully using kni...ves. This contributes to children's sense of responsibility and personal safety.

Children respond positively to the calm environment and apply themselves to their learning. For instance, they make imaginative pictures from a range of natural materials. They demonstrate excellent language skills as they describe their creations to attentive staff.

Children are happy and settled. They are immersed in their play and demonstrate high levels of confidence and self-esteem. Staff nurture children and respond to their needs with empathy and affection.

Staff encourage children to become highly motivated learners. Children have exemplary manners. They are courteous to staff and play exceptionally well with their friends.

Leaders work closely together to maintain high standards of care and education. New staff are nurtured from the beginning through a comprehensive induction and training programme. Ongoing coaching, mentoring and highly effective supervision build staff's knowledge and skills.

This ensures all staff understand the nursery ethos and deliver high-quality experiences to children.Leaders have implemented highly effective settling-in procedures. Staff take time to get to know children when they start.

They use the settling-in period to gather information from parents and learn about every child's care routines. Staff use this information effectively to build strong relationships with children and their parents. Transition between rooms is sensitively managed.

Safeguarding

The arrangements for safeguarding are effective.

A comprehensive programme of training ensures all staff regularly update their safeguarding and child protection knowledge. Leaders have implemented effective policies and procedures which underpin excellent safeguarding practice. Staff can identify the signs and symptoms which may indicate that a child is at risk of harm.

All staff, including temporary staff, understand the procedures to follow should they have any concerns about the welfare of a child. All areas of the premises are safe and clean. Staff complete detailed risk assessments to maintain a safe environment for children, both indoors and outdoors.
