This provision meets requirements Children arrive happily at this after-school club. They settle quickly and choose an activity to engage in. Staff plan a range of activities with children's interests in mind.
Children's behaviour is very good. Staff set clear rules and routines, and remind children about these at key points during the session. Children mix well with friends of all ages.
Staff offer support to the youngest children, which helps them to engage in the same activities as their older friends.Children demonstrate their independence and willingly help staff during the session. They hang up their coats and bags on the rack provided and help staff... set out tables and chairs in preparation for snack time.
Children follow instructions well. Staff gain children's attention easily if needed and the children are still, ready for instruction. When children become overly loud, staff gain their attention and explain to children when they need to lower the volume of their voices, so that others can enjoy their games.
What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?
The staff are dedicated to providing high-quality care and fun play experiences for children. Staff have supervision meetings and receive professional development opportunities to further improve their individual skills and knowledge. They consistently observe what children enjoy doing and how the environment supports this, with additional focus on young children.
From this, relevant adaptions are made and the impact of the changes are regularly reviewed.Relationships between staff and children are friendly and respectful. Staff acknowledge that children have had a busy day at school before they attend.
They provide activities to allow children to relax and enjoy their time with friends. Staff's interactions are warm and supportive. They praise children for their achievements and listen to children who want to chat about their day.
