What is it like to attend this early years setting?

This provision meets requirements Staff enthusiastically welcome the children into a clean and safe environment. Children are happy attending the out-of-school provision and enjoy the range of activities it has to offer, both inside and outside.

Staff have strong bonds with the children and know them well. Children confidently ask staff for support and staff go out of their way to help them. Staff provide a range of opportunities which meet children's needs and interests.

For example, during the holiday club there is a theme each day, such as 'under the sea' and 'colour exploration'. Staff plan activities based on these themes, such as paint spinning, wher...e children explore colour mixing. All children are fully engaged in their chosen activity.

Staff have high expectations for behaviour. Staff remind children of the rules and children can reiterate them when asked. Children follow the rules with ease and their behaviour is good.

Children respect each other and welcome new children to the club. New friendships are made, and older children care for younger children. For example, children invite others to join them at snack time.

Children are kind and respectful.

What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?

Managers have a strong relationship with their staff. They communicate regularly with their team.

For example, staff relay information to each other through daily 'huddles' and communication books. Leaders have supervision meetings with staff and conduct a yearly appraisal. Staff feel extremely supported by the leadership team and their well-being is considered.

Staff undergo regular training which is relevant to them. For example, staff do training on safeguarding concerns that have arisen in the local area. Staff have opportunities to extend their professional development and keep their knowledge up to date.

Children have opportunities to develop their independence skills. For instance, they are responsible for their own belongings, they access the activities they desire and ask to go to the toilet when needed. Staff give children challenges and responsibilities.

Every child is treated as an important member of the club.Staff are extremely caring and have the children's interest at the heart of everything they do. Children will confidently tell the staff if something has upset them.

Staff listen and give them reassurance, while coming up with strategies to resolve any issues. Children communicate well and have good self-esteem.Staff provide a range of healthy foods for children to choose from.

They are aware of allergies, dietary requirements, and preferences, which they display on their notice board. Staff discuss the importance of washing your hands before eating. Staff encourage children to make good choices regarding their health.

Staff promote physical development through the resources available for children. For example, they have large equipment used for climbing and balancing. They also use smaller resources outside, such as balls and scooters which support hand-body coordination.

When indoors there are lots of opportunities to strengthen their hands with threading and arts and crafts. Children stay active and physical development is improving.Staff provide children with new opportunities.

They have access to workshops and go on outings during the holiday club. For example, children have access to sports coaching and visit the local wildlife centre. Leaders ensure these are thoroughly risk assessed beforehand to ensure children are safe.

All activities provided are extremely inclusive and allow all children to enjoy and learn from them.Prior to the children enrolling with the out-of-school provision the parents fill out an in-depth form about their child. This is to ensure children's needs are always met.

For example, staff ask families about allergies, medication and specific needs. Parents are extremely happy with the care provided for their child and the flexibility when booking sessions. Staff also communicate consistently with the school about the children in their care.

Staff have formed good relationships with the families and school to ensure the children are safe in their care.
