What is it like to attend this early years setting?

This provision meets requirements Children enjoy attending the club.

They form firm friendships with other children and join in with the wide range of activities with enthusiasm. Children's physical development is promoted well. They build tunnels from foam blocks and crawl through them.

They devise their own dance routines and practise their gymnastic skills as they jump through hoops and exercise on soft mats. Children play a wide range of games and use crayons and coloured pens to create pictures and enjoy colouring activities. They make small models using construction bricks.

Children are well supported by staff who work alongside them and inc...lude them in conversations about their interests and their day at school. Younger children enjoy a story activity with a member of staff. Children's enjoyment and understanding is extended by using small props and scenery, which enables them to benefit from conversations and discussions about the story.

Children eat healthy snacks and meals or bring their own snacks from home. Staff provide children with a selection of healthy meals and snacks during the evening session and toast and cereals at breakfast. Children behave very well.

They are kind and considerate, polite and well mannered. They take turns and happily share their resources. Older children are supportive towards younger children.

For example, they sit with their younger friends and support them while playing games and during colouring activities. Children state they like coming to the club because they meet a different group of friends, as children from several different schools attend. Staff are very attentive towards the children and eagerly join in their activities and games.

They show respect as they speak and listen to the children and each other.

What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?

There has been significant improvement since the last inspection. The provider has met all actions and recommendations raised at the previous inspection.

Staff ensure the premises is safe and all external doors are secure. Staff monitor children's arrival and collection to ensure the entrance is secure. The provider plans very well for the safe and well-organised collection of children from many different schools within the community.

The provider ensures that staff keep their knowledge and skills up to date and that staff complete a variety of training opportunities. The provider monitors staff performance through individual meetings and staff sharing positive practice with each other. The provider reflects on the effectiveness of the setting to raise outcomes to the highest level.

This helps monitor the quality of the play experiences offered to children and identify any priority for improvement.Staff are welcoming and approachable. They are kind and caring and children form strong attachments with them.

Children form firm friendships with other children that attend and thoroughly enjoy including others in their play. Staff provide children with a good range of activities that stimulate their interests and encourage children to engage in and enjoy play with their friends. However, on occasions, the noise level becomes high and sometimes disrupts children's level of concentration and engagement in activities.

Staff work in partnerships with parents and the schools that children attend to make sure they meet children's individual needs. The provider gathers the opinions of parents to ensure she is meeting their child's needs. Parents state that they are very pleased with the quality of care their children receive at the setting.

The premises are welcoming and well resourced with a range of games and activities children enjoy. However, children do not have access to a cosy and more comfortable space where they can choose to rest and relax.

Safeguarding

The arrangements for safeguarding are effective.

Staff know the procedures to follow if there are any concerns about a child's welfare and how to recognise if a child's well-being is at risk. Staff regularly attend child protection training and their knowledge is monitored by managers as part of their professional development. Staff ensure that children's activities are well supervised, and they regularly assess and minimise any potential hazards.

For example, staff monitor children's whereabouts when they use the toilets. There are well-organised transport arrangements to and from the schools that children attend, which ensures children's safety. Access to the premises is monitored well and staff check the identity of all visitors before allowing them in.
