What is it like to attend this early years setting?
This provision meets requirements Children thoroughly enjoy spending time at the club.
They develop good relationships with staff and each other. Children have access to a good range of resources and activities. They settle quickly and remain engaged at their chosen activities.
Children of all ages enjoy playing together in the pretend home corner area. They talk about the different pretend food before deciding what they want to 'cook' in the pretend oven. They offer the food to their friends and laugh as they tell visitors 'It's going to be hot because I have hidden some peppers in it.'
Children enjoy playing with the construction resources. The...y concentrate as they look at pictures to decide which model to make and then carefully select the pieces. Children play tabletop games with each other and staff, showing patience as they wait for their turn.
Children have daily opportunities to participate in planned physical activities. Children thoroughly enjoy playing on the large pirate ship inflatable, which is a weekly activity at the club. This is extremely well organised.
Children sit and listen attentively as staff skilfully discuss the rules with them and explain clearly what they need to do to make sure everyone is safe. Children squeal with delight as they bounce up and down on the ship and slide down the plank at the end.
What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?

This helps to promote their independence.Partnerships with the host school are very strong. Some staff who work at the club also work at the school.
Staff share information with the teachers at the school to enhance children's experiences at the club and to help support children's safety and well-being.The club's website allows parents to access a good range of information. This includes information about the range of activities provided for children and the club's policies and procedures.
Staff exchange information with parents when they collect their children at the end of the sessions. This helps to develop good relationships with parents and provide continuity in children's care.
Safeguarding
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective.
Managers and staff demonstrate a robust knowledge of their responsibilities to safeguard and protect children. They regularly update their safeguarding knowledge, for example, through training and in-house quizzes. Staff have a good understanding of the possible signs and behaviours that may cause concern regarding children in their care.
They know how to report any concerns through the club management structure and the appropriate outside agencies. Staff have knowledge of wider safeguarding issues, such as radicalisation. They have a clear understanding of how to respond, without delay, to any concerns about persons working with children.
