What is it like to attend this early years setting?

This provision meets requirements Children look forward to spending time with their friends at the club.

They quickly organise their belongings as they arrive and then join in with a good variety of activities that staff have planned for them. Children say that staff listen to them and ask them to decide what activities the children would like. This ensures that children are motivated by activities that interest them, such as games, crafts, and sports.

Staff have high expectations for children's behaviour, and they are excellent role models. Children are exceptionally well mannered. They are kind and caring towards other children, including those with spec...ial educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) Children are thoughtful and inquisitive.

They are keen to find out more about the inspector, saying, 'Would you like to see what I am making?' and 'What is your name?'Staff encourage children to mix with other groups when they are playing. Children benefit from this and comment that they enjoy meeting and playing with children from another school. Staff play alongside children, eager to find out more about their day.

They encourage discussions so that children learn to listen to the opinions of others.

What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?

Leaders provide a welcoming environment for children to play in. They strive to improve by introducing new ideas so that children remain engaged and happy.

Staff say that they feel valued and listened to and that the leaders are thoughtful and approachable. They take part in a rigorous recruitment procedure. This ensures that staff are safe to work with children and have the necessary skills and training to plan interesting activities and motivate children to be independent.

Children have a very strong understanding of healthy lifestyles. They eat an interesting assortment of fruits and vegetables and healthy snacks. Staff encourage children to talk about the benefits of healthy eating.

Children have plenty of opportunities for physical exercise and vigorous activity, which they enjoy. However, as a result of the organisation of activities, children engaged in physical play sometimes interrupt those children who have chosen a quieter activity.Staff develop good partnerships with parents and parents comment that the staff are 'fantastic' and that the club is well organised.

They mention that children's safety is paramount. Staff have an excellent awareness of the children's dietary and medical needs and ensure that all children, including children with SEND, have full access to all activities and resources.Children demonstrate that they feel welcomed, happy, and relaxed.

They tell the inspector that the staff are friendly and fun. They comment that they wished the club did not finish until bedtime because it ends too quickly. Children enjoy making crafts to take home and take pride in what they have made.

Staff praise them for concentrating and being imaginative. Children beam with pride and demonstrate a clear sense of high self-esteem.Staff have a strong commitment to keeping children safe.

They are fully aware of their responsibilities in line with local procedures. Staff demonstrate a good knowledge of how to react if they have concerns about the welfare of a child or are concerned about the behaviour of a colleague. All staff have first-aid training, and the rigorous collection policy ensures that children are safely transported from school and only go home with a named adult.

Children are skilled at directing their own games under the watchful eye of the staff. Staff encourage children to challenge each other to a skipping game. Children are careful to follow the rules and enthusiastically congratulate the winner.

They encourage quieter children to join in with the fun and say, 'Come on, you will be great.'
