What is it like to attend this early years setting?

This provision meets requirements Children arrive at the camp and are welcomed by enthusiastic, caring staff. They eagerly join in group games. Staff are patient and caring and help less confident children, thoughtfully inviting them into activities and regularly checking on them.

Children enjoy being active outside on the playground. They use the equipment to challenge their skills. They play cooperative ball games.

Staff support children's knowledge of the rules and offer tips to help their technique and success. Children enjoy staff joining in and they all have a lot of fun. Parents say that staff are fantastic, and a wonderful team of people.

...Children behave well. They are polite to adults and each other. They understand the club's rules and staff's expectations.

They are independent and show a good sense of responsibility. They tidy and put away the resources, making sure they go in the right places. Children of all ages play well together.

Older children are mindful of the younger children and adapt their play as the younger ones join their games.

What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?

The staff team work together well. They have regular meetings to develop their practice.

Managers and staff deploy themselves effectively to supervise and support children and keep a close track of children on the premises. Security and pick up arrangements are conducted thoroughly. There is clear communication, they make sure the club runs smoothly and that children are safe and enjoy their time there.

Staff procedures for taking children between the school's two linked clubs are robust. Children enjoy joining the 'walking bus'. They know the routine well and follow road safety rules closely.

Staff ensure children remain confident and happy during the last session of the day. Children enjoy a snack and are supported in their choices of activities.There are some bilingual children and different nationalities at the club.

Staff appreciate and respect children's individualities and ensure they adapt games and activities to the different ages and needs of children. However, the management team do not ensure information regarding children's home languages and cultures is consistently obtained from parents. Staff are, therefore, not always able to value and support these differences.

The company have electronic systems to share information with parents. They produce newsletters and staff update parents via messages. Staff have strong links with both school sites.

They work closely in partnerships with teachers and support staff. They provide for younger children's needs well, making sure they have any extra support they may need.The management team lead appropriate recruitment and induction, ensuring staff are suitable to work with children.

They support staff's professional development well. Staff refresh their first aid and child protection training regularly. They are encouraged to undertake any additional training they may wish to, both externally and through the many varied opportunities available to them through the parent company.

Staff say they enjoy working at the club.
