What is it like to attend this early years setting?

This provision meets requirements Children quickly settle into the club routines and develop good bonds with the friendly staff team. Leaders send special welcome letters to new children, as part of the settling-in arrangements.

They tell the children how much everyone is looking forward to meeting them. Children feel part of the club family, right from the start. Staff follow robust procedures to promote children's safety.

They collect the younger children from their classes during term time. Children are always well supervised by staff at the club, both inside and when playing outside. Staff have arrangements in place to support children's online safety....

All technological devices are carefully monitored by staff and the club has a 'tech-free' day each week.Children are extremely friendly and cooperative as they play together, for example constructing a house with blocks or playing board games. They patiently wait to take turns on popular resources, such as the bikes.

There is a happy buzz of activity that runs through the club sessions. The older children are very caring with the younger ones and include them in their games. Children sit together at mealtimes chatting to each other, which further supports their social skills.

Staff are passionate about the club. They promote a welcoming and inclusive ethos for children and their parents. Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are very well supported.

Staff ensure all children can access and enjoy the full range of activities.Parents are very complimentary about the 'amazing' club staff and the range of activities that their children access. They praise the way staff ensure that new children are happy and settled.

They mention the quality of meals that are provided by the club. Parents know their children are well looked after and kept safe in a nurturing environment.Children show much independence as they explore the well-organised environments.

They are very engaged throughout the sessions. Staff listen carefully to children's views to ensure the resources and activities reflect their different interests. Children know their thoughts and ideas are valued, which strongly supports their confidence and self-esteem.

Staff plan times for children to spend outside. The younger children have their own outdoor area, which has been recently refurbished to a high standard. They have plenty of space to ride bikes and other wheeled toys.

Children are confident to ask for additional resources to enhance their play ideas. Staff are very responsive which means children continue to be motivated and engaged in their chosen activities.Leaders demonstrate much commitment to working in partnership with families.

They send out questionnaires to parents to ensure their views help to drive the club forward. For example, in response to recent feedback from parents, leaders have reviewed the content of their newsletters. They now include more information about the activities they plan for children.

Children talk to visitors about their club. They say they really enjoy coming to play with their friends. Children describe their favourite activities, such as karaoke and drawing.

They look forward to the visits that staff plan for the holiday club, which include trips to the seaside and bowling.There are good links with the host school. Leaders have robust arrangements in place for sharing relevant information between the club and school teachers.

This provides consistency in meeting children's individual needs.Children demonstrate a good understanding of the club rules. They know, for example, they need to wash their hands before eating.

They care for the resources and tidy them away when asked. Children politely ask if they can go to the toilet so that staff know where they are during the sessions.Leaders demonstrate much commitment in supporting staff through supervision meetings and providing opportunities to develop their skills further.

Staff report they really enjoy their roles and appreciate the excellent support they receive from club leaders.
