They independently find their name or picture cards and place it on a coat peg. They hang up their belongings and eagerly enter the playrooms, ready to play and learn.Children are extremely happy and well settled within the nursery.
Kind and nurturing staff support babies. They are attentive to all their needs. Babies enjoy cuddles with staff when then need comfort.
Older ...children seek staff to join their games. During sensory exploration, children seek out staff and say, 'come and play'. Enthusiastic staff respond swiftly to children's requests.
They play with the children and follow their lead. Children beam with delight as staff engage, copy and model play.Children learn the importance of a healthy lifestyle and the impact this has on their bodies.
Babies and toddlers have a choice of healthy snacks. Staff talk to them about what they are eating in an age-appropriate manner. During lunchtime, older children discuss what food they have on their plates.
They say the carrots give them 'muscles'. Highly knowledgeable staff explain how the food they eat gives children energy to play. When the children play in the garden after lunch, they discuss how their lunch has made them run fast.
Staff teach children about the effects of a healthy lifestyle, and children begin to learn the impact of this from an early age.

There are admirable relationships and support for all staff, who report high levels of well-being. Staff feel valued. They display excellent practice, which ensures the nursery provides a happy, caring and nurturing environment for all who attend.
Highly trained, outstanding leaders and staff construct a strong, ambitious curriculum, which is thoroughly embedded throughout the nursery. They plan for children's next steps in learning around their interests. Highly knowledgeable staff weave these next steps throughout children's daily play, ensuring they embed these skills before moving them to the next stage.
Children make exceptional progress from their starting points.There is exceptional partnerships with parents. Leaders and staff know all families very well.
Parents report on the 'excellent' communication from staff and the 'open-door' policy leaders have. They share that their children make brilliant progress and transition smoothly to their next stage, be this moving up to a new room or starting school. The nursery has also implemented a food bank, which can be accessed by anyone who is part of the nursery community.
Children and families who attend this nursery are extremely happy and well supported.The highly trained special educational needs coordinator (SENCo) has an outstanding knowledge of the children she is supporting within the nursery. She communicates with the children's key person regularly to ensure their needs are being met and to keep up to date with their development.
Referrals to outside agencies are made in a timely manner, where required. The SENCo works closely with parents and outside agencies to ensure children receive the best possible support. Children receive high-quality, inclusive learning opportunities and make good progress.
Children display exceptional behaviour. Babies and toddlers play alongside each other in the home corner. They hand toys to each other and giggle together as they play.
Older children respect their friend's choices. Children put their coats on for the garden. They attempt to assist each other to zip up their coats.
When children say 'no, thank you, I want it open', their friends accept and respect their request. They unzip their coat so they can be the same. Children learn the importance of valuing and respecting each other's different views and are confident to express these.
Children are extremely confident and independent in their play. Babies confidently explore their environment; they select toys and enjoy playing with these. Adults are always close by to model and support babies in play.
Toddlers wash their own hands before snack and pour their own drinks at mealtimes. Older children confidently tend to their own personal care needs. At mealtimes, they serve their own food.
Children learn to be independent and are confident to seek support from adults where needed. This ensures they are ready for their next stage of learning.
Safeguarding
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective.
Leaders have an exceptional knowledge of safeguarding and their role to help keep children safe. Staff can identify signs and symptoms that maybe indicators a child is at risk of harm. They know how to report and record information and how to seek support from outside agencies should they need too.
Leaders have a rigorous recruitment and induction process, to help ensure all staff are safe to work with children. All staff in the nursery undergo Disclosure and Barring Service checks. Staff provide a safe and secure environment for children to play and learn.
