This provision meets requirements The joint owners ensure children are welcomed by happy and attentive staff on collection from school.
They take great care to get to know the children well before they attend and are genuinely pleased to see the children. Children are happy and excited to see the staff and enthusiastically talk about their day at school on the walk back to the club. The managers ensure the hall is prepared ready and is cosy and welcoming on arrival.
Even the very youngest children are settled and confident. An effective key-person system supports the children that may require reassurance. Older children are encouraged to support and help y...ounger children and they hold hands on their walk to club.
They engage in conversations and chat and giggle as they walk. Children make friendships and are kind and thoughtful to one another. The staff are good role models and children understand their high expectations.
There is calm and homely atmosphere and children's behaviour is very good. Children have a say in the activities provided. They are given ample choices and vote for resources they would like to have.
A wide variety of quality toys and resources are available to them. They quickly engage in fun activities and play well together. There is also a quiet space available as staff understand younger children may be tired after a day at school.
They can relax and sit comfortably as they look at books and soft toys are available to cuddle.
What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?
The managers and their team have established positive working relationships with the host school. Regular conversations take place with the school to discuss continuity of care and any additional support required for children.
Communication is strong and discussions, if needed, take place with the teacher at the end of the school day. The breakfast club operates from the host school, while the after-school club operates from the village hall.Children demonstrate they are happy, feel safe and are confident.
They are independent but seek help and reassurance when needed. Children are extremely settled and happy. The session runs seamlessly, and children are busy and fully engaged throughout.
Staff invest time in getting to know the children and their family. A strong focus is placed on children's emotional well-being. Children build secure, warm attachments with regular adults caring for them.
Children happily and confidently engage visitors in conversation. They discuss what they enjoy doing and how excited they are when it is a 'club night'.Children are offered a healthy snack on arrival.
They make their own choices from a selection of fruits and crackers as they sit chatting to their friends. They fully understand the need to wash hands and are encouraged and supported to do so before they join the snack table. Children are also offered a warm light meal towards the end of the session.
They manage their own portion size and presentation of the food as they serve themselves curry, rice, and bread. Robust procedures are in place to ensure any children with allergies, dietary needs or medical requirements are managed well.All parents speak positively about all aspects of the club.
They comment that staff are very approachable and professional. Parents say they can discuss any concerns with them and feel supported. They feel reassured their children are safe, and that they have fun and are always keen to attend.

For example, they are positively encouraged to continue with their own professional development. They demonstrate enthusiasm and genuine interest in their role and providing a quality service for the children. It is a small team and staff retention is good.
Therefore, children are provided with continuity of care.Children show great enthusiasm to try new things. They spend time and concentrate as they paint and decorate 'red noses'.
Children's work is celebrated and displayed within the room. They work together as they present a puppet show in the theatre. Older children read stories to younger children and there is real sense of family, respect and kindness.
Children's safety is paramount and daily risk assessments are completed to ensure children's walk from school is safe. Children are taught about the importance of road safety and keeping themselves safe through well-planned activities. Staff are clear of their individual responsibility to protect children.
Completion of appropriate safeguarding training ensures they are fully updated with current practice.
