Highlights from Latest Inspection

Summary of key findings for parents

This provision is good • Leaders and staff have successfully addressed the areas for development identified at the previous inspection. For example, they retain an accurate and precise record of the times that children attend the club. Additionally, leaders and staff have maintained records for each child being cared for, including information about medical and dietary needs and how they must be managed.

• Leaders and staff have developed good links with teaching staff at the host school. They share information about children to help ensure consistency and continuity in their care and learning. • The staff work well together and evaluate their practice during regular conversation...s.

They seek the views of the children and parents regularly to help plan improvements and ideas for activities in the future. • Staff act as good role models for children, which supports their understanding of expected behaviour. • Children are happy and enjoy the time they spend at the club.

They form secure emotional attachments and develop good relationships with their peers and the staff. • Although staff supervise children well, they do not make the best use of some opportunities that arise to help develop children's awareness of assessing risks for themselves and how to avoid potential accidents. • Staff miss opportunities during daily routines to develop children's understanding of good personal hygiene.
