They arrive eagerly and settle quickly. They are independent and know the rules and routines of the club. For example, they deposit any coats and bags in the designated area, and then wash their hands before snack.
Children play well together in groups and sit sociably together during meal times. Their voices are valued. Staff listen attentively to children and let them follow their own interests.
They value children's ideas and use their suggestions to plan, fun and exciting activities. For example, when children suggest a new chase game outs...ide, staff let them explain the rules and join in with enthusiasm.Children enjoy a wide range of activities, such as art and crafts, small-world play and reading in the cosy book area.
Children of all ages enjoy role-play, as they 'teach' in the facsimile school or care for their babies. Other children build complex models using construction toys. Staff join in their play and ensure children get involved with something that interests them.
The atmosphere at the club is very positive. Children move around freely, both inside and outside. As a result, children are keen to participate and remain engaged for long periods.
